I added a short discussion and tutorial for the FREE encryption program AxCrypt.
AxCrypt allows you to protect files and folders using encryption. Use AxCrypt if
you store personally identifying information such as social security and drivers
license numbers, credit card, and bank account numbers on your computer/s.
If you operate a SOHO (small office, home office) business use AxCrypt to
encrypt/protect confidential customer/client and vendor lists or sensitive

I added a new tutorial that describes some changes you can make to improve the
security and privacy of your high speed/broadband Internet and wireless access. I use a
2WIRE 2700HG-B in my examples. However, the concepts I cover are applicable to
any similar device. The 2WIRE 2700HG-B (or similar device) is included with
broadband access provided by many large service providers to include AT&T/Yahoo,
Verizon, Netzero, Juno, Qwest, some large European and Asian providers.

I re-wrote and expanded my tutorial on Cryptainer LE. Cryptainer LE allows you to create
"encrypted volumes" or "vaults" that you can use to store and protect important personal
or business files/information/data. It would be useful for any home, SOHO (small office,
home office) business that uses computers.

Forget about lugging your laptop with you when you leave home. Try the PortableApps
Suite and take great FREE applications with you on a thumb/flash or other portable
drive. I also include a short tutorial I wrote on how to install the PortableApps
Suite into an encrypted TrueCrypt volume to increase your privacy.

Instant messaging (IM) could be a useful tool to work with customers and other
business related contacts if you run a small or home business. IM Could save you
money on long distance phone charges. I wrote an article about instant messaging
discussing some of it's benefits and dangers. I also give some ideas on what you
can do to protect yourself if you currently use or plan to begin using IM.

I completed a tutorial that discusses what "hard drive imaging" is and how
you can use it to recover from a computer emergency (your computer becomes infected
by a virus, Trojan or the hard drive fails). I demonstrate how to use a free
application called DriveImage XML to create a drive image. I also show you how
you can automate the creation of drive images.

I wrote a quick discussion of some of the ways you might use UBCD4Win as a recovery
tool in a computer emergency. This is not a tutorial at this point. I also discuss
how one of the utilities on UBCD4Win can be used to securely clean/wipe a computers
hard drive before you sell it online.

Many home and SOHO (small office, home office) computer users I've met do not
routinely backup important files. I offer a few suggestions on how to use the free
program "Allway Sync" to backup stored files and synchronize newly updated/created files.
