Take It With You
You can install Password Agent Lite on a thumb/flash or other portable drive and
take it with you. You might consider using it in conjunction with the "PortableApps
Suite". The PortableApps Suite" allows you to bring a
long list of FREE applications with you and run them from a USB thumb/flash or
other portable drive. This is very convenient if you travel or move between multiple
computers at home, work or school. With Password Agent Lite open/running click:
-
"File" then "Take With Me..." to install Password Agent Lite to a portable drive.
-
The "Browse" button to navigate to your portable drive.
-
The "Start" button to begin copying the necessary files to your portable drive.

You will be notified once the file copying process is complete. Click the "Close"
button to exit the "Take With Me" process/wizard.

Final Thoughts
Routinely backup the file that holds all your account entries. You will loose
all your account entries/records if the file that stores them becomes
corrupted/damaged or stolen by a computer intruder. The file Password Agent Lite
uses to store your account information ends with the 3 letter extension of .pwa
(Example: tom.pwa). With PasswordAgent Lite running/open you manually create a
backup by:
- clicking "File" then "Backup/Copy to..."
- choosing a place to store the backup copy (different than the original location)
- clicking the "OK" button to complete the backup
The backup process is fast. Verify the file was copied to your backup
destination. Verify the backup file works by opening it with Password Agent Lite.
I suggest you store a copy of the file you backed up to a separate hard or portable
drive. I also suggest you burn a copy to a CD/DVD ROM. If you run a SOHO (small
office, home office) business I suggest you establish a routine backup process.
You may want to consider using an application like Allway
Sync to automate the backup process. The free version of Allway Sync has a
lot of useful features. The pro version has even more features and is quite
inexpensive.

Password agent uses (256-bit key) AES/Rijndael encryption. AES stands for
Advanced Encryption Standard. "Rijndael" is a symmetric
encryption algorithm and has been approved by the US government for the encryption
and protection of sensitive (unclassified) information. This type of encryption
is sufficient to meet the needs of home/school computer users or SOHO (small
office, home office) businesses.
