Cryptainer LE is a FREE application that encrypts the types of computer files/information
most home and small business users would produce. Cryptainer LE uses 128 bit Blowfish
encryption. Blowfish encryption is well tested and considered an industry standard.
Cryptainer LE offers excellent protection and features for the home user or small
business owner. Cryptainer LE is fast and easy to use. Cryptainer LE would
be an excellent solution to encrypt the routine backups
of critical system files, business and personal data/information your computer holds
(you do encrypt your backups don't you?). This will prevent unauthorized
access to any files within the backup.

|
Cryptainer LE allows you to encrypt and protect up to 25 Megabytes at one time.
To encrypt larger amounts of files/data at one time you can purchase Cryptainer
PE. Cryptainer PE allows you to encrypt up to 5 gigabytes at one time. Cryptainer
PE also uses a stronger 448-bit encryption. You can also encrypt and secure data
on removable external drives, CD-ROM's or USB flash/thumb drives.

Most e-mail encryption solutions require both the sender and recipient to have copies
of the software installed on their computers. However, both versions of Cryptainer
allow you create secure e-mail files you can send to anyone. The recipient of the
file enters a password to decrypt it.

Installing Cryptainer LE is very simple. Cypherix, the company that produces Cryptainer LE
offers some
directions to help you. I give some useful installation tips on the
following pages that can help you get started using Cryptainer. I also introduce
some of the useful e-mail protection/encryption capabilities Cryptainer LE has to
offer.

Warning: All the software I suggest is popular and well tested. However,
any time you add a program/application or hardware device to your computer you run the
risk of a problem developing with your computer. Always back up important files on your
computer before installing any new program/application or device. You download
and install any new software at your risk.
