Click:

  • the "Read" tab
  • in the check box to select "Read all messages in plain text"

  • the "Send" tab
  • in the radio button to select "Plain Text" ("Mail Sending Format")
  • in the radio button to select "Plain Text" ("News Sending Format")
  • the "Apply" button
  • the "OK" button to save your changes

Most of the negative aspects of using and viewing HTML based/formatted e-mail are security and privacy related. If you receive an HTML e-mail from a trusted source you can still view it.

  • Click on the "External Message Information Bar" above the body/content of the e-mail. You will see a message that says "Some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying your computer. Click here to download pictures".
