The following paragraphs are an excerpt from my discussion of the PDF reading application
called Foxit Reader.
"Documents produced using the PDF (Portable Document Format) format can be read/viewed on many
different computer operating systems/platforms. You must have a specialized application
to create documents in the PDF format.
You must have a specialized application to create documents in the PDF format.
Why would a PDF formatted document be useful to you? Example: You own a computer
running Microsoft's Windows and a friend, co-worker or customer owns an
Apple/Macintosh computer. You want to share a document (letter, invoice, term
paper, product order form, spec sheet, RMA) with this individual. Convert the
documents you want to share to the PDF format. Send the document to it's intended
recipient via e-mail.
Include a link in your e-mail to a PDF reader application like Foxit Reader. The
person you want to share your document with could then downloaded and install Foxit
Reader. Once installed Foxit Reader would allow your document to be viewed, printed
and or faxed back to you as needed. Any documents (Example: order form, spec sheet)
you create in the .PDF format could also be made available and viewed, saved or
printed from your Web site if you have one."
